Freedom in Simplicity: Why I Chose Blogger and a 100% Chromebook Setup

The Choice of Platform: Escaping the "WordPress Hell" When building a personal site, it’s easy to get lost in a jungle of complex systems and monthly subscriptions. I’ve chosen a different path: Blogger.com.

Technically and economically, it just makes sense. By skipping traditional web hosting, I save roughly $60–$100 a year. But more importantly, I avoid the "sluggish WordPress hell." I don’t have to worry about updating plugins, patching security holes, or maintaining databases. Since Google has managed the infrastructure since 2003, the site is fast, secure, and virtually maintenance-free.

My Hardware: From "Secret User" to 100% Chromebook Plus For a long time, I was a "secret" Chromebook user in my private life—it was my go-to device for the couch and travel because of its instant boot time and endless battery life.

Now, I’ve taken the full leap. My Chromebook Plus is my 100% primary workstation. When I’m home, I connect it to an external display for a perfect dual-screen setup dedicated to writing and gaming logic. On the move, I use my Android phone and the dedicated Blogger app to post updates instantly. It’s a seamless ecosystem that fits my mobile lifestyle.

Focusing on the Word, Not the Packaging You might notice the design here is very simple. I’ve intentionally chosen a standard Blogger theme. My focus is entirely on the writing; I don’t want to waste time fine-tuning graphics that don't add value to the core content.

That said, the flexibility is there. If I want to nerd out, I can customize everything with my own CSS. But for now, I prefer digital minimalism—leveraging modern technology without the unnecessary overhead.

No Limits on Storage With a 2 TB Google One subscription, storage is a non-issue. All images and files are backed by my Google account, so I’ll never hit a "storage wall" or be forced into a predatory hosting upgrade.
